I ‘m a DuPage County Board Member and community advocate running for Illinois State Representative in the 84th District.
I was born in India and immigrated to the United States almost 20-years-ago, and since then, I’ve dedicated my life towards giving back to the community that helped me and my family make Illinois our home.
That’s why I’m running to be your next State Representative: I want to continue serving my community by taking our fight to Springfield. I know firsthand the struggles our working families are going through, and I want to work with our elected officials to find solutions to the problems we all face.
I will use every tool available to ensure public safety, economic growth, and environmental sustainability so that ALL of our families can succeed.
EXPERIENCE
SMALL BUSINESS OWNER
Over a decade of experience as a small business owner and consultant, providing wellness consulting services to local businesses, groups, and individuals in the Chicagoland area, and also training people to become yoga and meditation teachers.
COMMUNITY ADVOCATE
Deep involvement with numerous community organizations fighting for the betterment of families everywhere, including serving as the director of the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation, serving over 26,000 students every year.
PUBLIC SERVANT
I am a DuPage County Board Member. On the Board, I serve as the Chair of the Strategic Planning and Environmental Committees. Also, as a member of the Public Health Board, I helped to make the Crisis Recovery Center a reality. This made DuPage County a national model for dealing with Mental Health and Addiction issues in the country.

As a wellness expert, I know the importance of mental health to the safety of our neighborhoods, especially our young people. As a DuPage Public Health Board Member, I helped make the Crisis Recovery Center (CRC) a reality, a first of its kind facility in the country that provides mental health and addiction services to adults and youth.
As your State Representative, I will take the fight to fund critical mental health services to Springfield, and will prioritize the social and safety services that keep out communities safe and thriving

As a the Chair of the DuPage County Environmental Committee Chair, and with my Master’s degree in Wildlife Science, I know that our community’s success is directly related to our community’s environment.
In Springfield, I will prioritize sustainable infrastructure and environmental restoration, ensuring clean water and air for all of our community members.

As a small business owner, I’ve built collaborative ties with local businesses, organizations, and groups to help bring people together. I am a member of the Economic Development Committee on the DuPage County Board and works hard to support businesses, grow job opportunities, and help working families thrive.
As a State Representative, I will be a careful steward of our tax dollars, and work to promote economic growth by making sure we are making smart investments in our communities and creating affordable, sustainable, and thriving neighborhoods for all.
The District
The 84th District covers the four corners between Will, DuPage, Kane, and Kendall counties, encompassing parts of Aurora, Naperville, Oswego, Montgomery, and Boulder Hill.
